Where We Work

Where We Work

Our work is centered in and around the city and province of Siem Reap, Cambodia. Siem Reap City is located in the northwestern region of Cambodia, within 100 miles of the border of Thailand. Just outside the city of Siem Reap is the ancient Buddhist temple complex of Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is Cambodia’s leading tourist attraction for both foreign and domestic tourists.

In Siem Reap City Equip Cambodia operates a dormitory for elementary and middle school students from surrounding villages. These children and young adults come from poor village areas where secondary education is not available. In a family-like environment, those in our dorm ministry experience a healthy home environment where dorm parents provide a parental role model for them. Household chores and responsibilities, curfews, study and homework expectations expectations as well as a spiritual and relational environment that is healthy and honoring to the Lord are all an intentional part of the holistic upbringing and maturing of some of Cambodia’s future influencers and leaders.

In a number of outlying villages in the Siem Reap area our Equip Cambodia staff and pastor/leaders have planted churches and are providing discipleship to Cambodian Christians. Through various development projects such as training in effective farming techniques as well as village outreaches to children the gospel is beginning to take hold in previously unreached Cambodian communities. Equip Cambodia missionary staff provide ongoing pastoral training for Cambodian pastors and teachers.
